History

The OKC Thunder were founded in 1967 as Seattle Supersonics. In 2008, the team changed their city and team name to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The OKC is still a NBA team today.

Players

Some key players from the 2019-2020 season are Chris Paul, Dennis Schroder, Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, and Steven Adams.

Awards

They won a championship as Seattle Supersonics in 1979. They also won four conference title awards, eleven division titles, and have seven retired numbers.

Location

The Oklahoma City Thunder is obviously located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In the NBA, they are in the western conference due to their location in the US.

Coaching staff and managers

Since 2008, when the team changed to Oklahoma City Thunder, there were three head coaches. They were P.J. Carlesimo, Scott Brooks, and Billy Donovan. Billy Donovan decided to leave OKC after the 2020 season. Sam Presti is the general manager.

Stadium

The OKC Thunder play in a stadium named Chesapeake Energy Arena located near Reno Avenue in Oklahoma City. The capacity is 18,203 people and it opened in June 8, 2002.
